A whopping £56000,00 was raised in the heart of Glasgow , Scotland at the Darcey Sunshine Foundation Gala Dinner
Organiser Kirsty Doig said Thursday 3rd of November won’t be a date easily forgotten for me. Having not seen many friends and family since loosing Darcey just 2.5 years ago, the support was out in full force at our first “Winter Sunshine Gala Dinner” in Glasgow!
The truth is, our programme just couldn’t work without the support of our community, both near and far. The Scots came out in style with “a touch of sunshine”, enjoying the most delicious sunrise cocktails by Glaswegin , live music by the awesome Soul Nation and speeches from John Beattie and a fabulous auction run by Willie Paterson! Top price on the night was to own your own Cask of Single Malt Whisky by boutique Highland Distillery Strathearn, would be distilled and stored under guard for 5 years and you can expect over 300 bottles from the cask, raising over £10000 for this prize!
Emotions ran high, and never before has a room been so filled with love and kindness!
Our absolutely sensational auction lots, along with cash donations on the evening, led to an astonishing amount of £56,000 being raised on the night (that’s over R1.1m!!!!)!That’s a whole load of sunshine from one room if people! We were delighted to be able to share this fundraising evening with Loch Lomond Rescue Boat, raising £2000 towards the essential work they do, saving lives on Loch Lomond!
All of this would have been impossible without the support of our sponsors, the exceptional event planner (Briona Farrell) at Òran Mór and the generosity of people who can see that together, we can make a huge difference in the lives of many young people, in the hope that no other parent or family suffers the unfathomable loss we have.
Here’s to a fabulous 2023 filled with love and sunshine!
